The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE), the nation’s largest bank, has introduced a comprehensive tariff guide for its wide array of banking products and services. This tariff guide encompasses various categories, including deposit accounts, transfer services, bill payments, cheque books, safe deposit boxes, digital banking, international banking, and credit services.
The tariff shows the interest rates, commissions, fees, and charges for each service, depending on the type, amount, and duration of the transaction. The tariff is expressed in Ethiopian birr (ETB), while some services also involve foreign currency charges.
The disclosed fees include a transaction fee for money withdrawal done on bank branches.
The CBE is a state-owned bank that provides a wide range of financial services to individuals, businesses, and government institutions. It has over 1,500 branches and 4,000 ATMs across the country. It also operates mobile banking, internet banking, card banking, and mobile money (CBE Birr) services.
